Pre-Triassic orthogneiss with heterogeneous grains and fine striped texture; with pervasive, narrow-layered schistosity, determined by the muscovite (which replaces the k-feldspar) and the biotite. The stone has a light, silver and whitish background, due to the presence of quartz, feldspar and white mica, with a fine dotted and streaked pattern, given by the tourmaline. Usage: indoor and outdoor floorings and coatings, stairs, skirting units, thresholds, window-sills, window surrounds, frames, portals, balconies, sills, benches, kerbs, road paving, flower-holders, columns, kitchen and bathroom table-tops, fountains, funerary art, graves and chapels. |
